Project Advancement

Hey guys,
I'm sorry I haven't been on in a little while. The reason is, I'm working on the project!! I've decided to do my LGBTQA Opinions and Matters project on WordPress. I have a site for it on WordPress, but boy oh boy is it something I have to work on!
To me the WordPress is pretty "advanced." I didn't how much widgets I could put on my page, nor did I know some of the other things I'm still trying to figure out.
I think it's going to be pretty fun, but time consuming as I don't know how to use WordPress at all.
It's a great learning experience though!! I hope people will see my page and comment on it too; not just you guys, but other people around the world as well.
I'll be looking at everyone else's progress as soon as I can and give my opinions and comments.

Furthering my Project Planning

Okay, so I stated a couple blogs ago that I want to do Entertainment for my project. I'm now thinking of concentrating on more of a controversial topic; LGBTQA (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Queers, and Allies) matters. I believe this to be a topic that everyone can talk about and express their opinions--good or bad--in multiple ways. As a person who is unknown of her sexuality, I wish to share that with people in a web site/blog and get people's opinions on that and on issues that occur all over the world pertaining to LGBTQA.
I don't know how this will turn out, but I always thought it would be something good to do to start a "movement" of opinions based on a matter that I care about.
I still don't know how I'm going to set it up yet, but I believe this is what my project will pertain.

Pressthink Weblog

The web site given to us is pretty interesting. Since I don't know too much about blogs, I thought it was just one long story. As I got further down I realized it's just random blogs about topics people want to share with their audience. I like blogs. I like looking at them now and just looking at the common or complete opposite subjects people talk about that I have or haven't thought about. They give their opinions, people respond back; that is a cool thing to do because it gets people to think and share their thoughts with people who care just as much about the topic as you do.
I noticed the web site was a journalists.nyu URL. If it's what I'm thinking, New York University?, then I think it would be cool if Ferris had their own blog that students can join. It would help students interact with other random students about topics they like or dislike.

Entertainment

Now I wish for my project to do something with one of the things I love most. Pop Culture, more specifically, movies, television, and/or music. I want to focus on entertainment I love. I hope to focus more on movies and television for my project. I love sports though too, more specifically, football--both college and pro. I do not know what I want to put those to ideas into for the project, but I know I'd like to do something with them.
Maybe start a blog up or maybe a web site about sports and movies, however a lot of web site are already out there with that stuff. That's where I'm stuck. I want to promote sports and movies, but don't know how to do. I could do a personal web site for my project, but that's too common and easy to do. I want to try something different; something about what I like, not about who I am; I have a resume that does that for me. Building a new blog or web site that pertains to things I enjoy, instead of my biography, will broaden my skills and imagination; it tells people that I can create something that isn't just about me, it's about everyday things that a lot of people love and want to read and/or know about.
So my project will be about Pop Culture or more specifically, movies and sports (or maybe just movies, depending on how broad and general it gets). I just need a layout for it all. I thought of doing a blog, so I may stick with that, but I'd need to do a lot of research and get a lot of movie (and possibly sports) information to keep the blog up to date and keep it going or keep it alive for longer than a week. So that's why I was also thinking my idea would be too broad because of its large range of information that can be found. I'm stuck at thinking about that, but that's still what I'm hoping to keep the project idea on.
I'll keep thinking about it and searching around, maybe I'll find a specific topic about movies that I can talk about for a long time....

Busy, busy, busy...

What to do first...
I have so many things to do, and it seems like I have so little time to do it! Homework here, homework there, projects starting now, projects starting soon, and job complications at times. It's good to be busy so I can organize my priorities but I'm getting sick of being busy already--and it's only the beginning of the end (of school). I didn't even know my Eng. 417 class started because I was concentrating on everything else that already started. I forgot I even had this class...but...
This is my first blog in my entire life, so I'm glad I'm learning how to do it and should hopefully have fun doing it as I will prioritize my "things to do" list by adding this new blog to it. Since this is my first blog you'll have to excuse my "blog use" because reading back through this, it doesn't seem like a blog. I'll keep it for now, but if you have any comments on what more I can do--like make more of an editorial blog--then do let me know.
